The Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps (ACMC) is the second highest-ranking officer in the USMC and operates as the second-in-command for the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC). The ACMC is appointed by the President and must be confirmed by a Senate majority vote.^[2]
