Kennedy Space Center (KSC)
Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is perhaps NASA’s most well-known complex. Located at Cape Canaveral, Florida, KSC is the site of all U.S. manned spaceflight launches and many unmanned probe and satellite launches, starting in the early days from Project Mercury to the Space Shuttle Program and International Space Station, and from the Hubble Space Telescope to the Mars rovers.
KSC is involved in a number of programs and initiatives including the following:
- Commercial Crew Program
- Deep Space Logistics
- Educational Launch of Nanosatellites
- Exploration Ground Systems
- Launch Services Program
- Research and Technology
- Station Payloads
The following image depicts Kennedy’s organizational structure. Additionally, one can learn more about NASA's "movers and shakers" by reviewing the list of biographies of current employees of the John F. Kennedy Space Center.
